Dear Blogging Community,

With nearly 4 years service on the Board, County Commissioner Richard has a wealth of information to share.

As far as I know, Commissioner Richard is the only commissioner who takes the time to read & respond to the blogs posted on www.cumminghome.com. Recently he began participating in the Forsyth County News (FCN) blogs.

If a citizen posts a question regarding a County issue, Commissioner Richard quickly responds with an answer. He is also great at providing background information to provide the entire picture of the issue.

Commissioner Richard's comments are sometimes sprinkled with frustration. These negative comments trigger further negative comments & bloggers begin attacking each other....not the issues.

One reason why I recently joined the FCN blogging community is because I did not see the back-&-forth insults that are prevalent in the www.cumminghome.com blogs.

Recently, I noticed that the tone of the FCN blogs has changed.

If you believe any of the bloggers are violating the agreed-upon blog etiquette of mutual respect:
***** e-mail offensive@forsythnews.com and include a link to the posting in question.

Sincerely,
~~Cindy

Hi Cindy
The fact of the matter is a lot of people are very frustrated with our local government and a lot of us bloggers find this forum refreshing to air our grievances and frustrations regarding the way our local government has handled themselves in the last several years. I will admit sometimes I go over to the 'dark' side and have to step away from the computer when our leadership perpetuates stupidity. I love to read everyone's viewpoints and opinions on issues that really do matter in our community. But I also believe 'mutual' respect should be a give and take, by all parties that blog, including the ones that currently hold office.

Cindy I second what terryb has stated. Sometimes I let the emotions of a discussion get the best of me, but I always respect other viewpoints and will continue to do so. Even Terry and I have not seen eye to eye on some issues such as the jail bond or the Bethel Park issue, but we do keep it respectful.

In the case of David Richard, I do not mind him blogging here and in fact I encourage it because if it is done in a mature manner then the debate/discussion will be all the better for the community. The only thing I would ask of David Richard is he get away from sounding so condescending to those who don't agree with him. If he does that and can still get his point across then I have no problem blogging with him agree or disagree. I just hope he learns that everyone who has blogged with him will respect him more if he gives respect back.
