Forsyth Area Sports Teams, Inc. is holding a sports instruction fund raiser to further our mission of helping challenged athletes through sports. $100 donation for either a scuba or sailing course. No other fees or equipment to buy. Go to http://wavetheusaflag.com and see the great things we did in 2011! The scuba course includes online training and all pool and classroom work. The sailing course includes online training and two days of on water instruction. This promotion ends in 10 days. How do you join the classes for scuba?And what age do you begin?

Hi, although agencies such as PADI have scuba courses that have a minimum age of 10 years old, and have Junior open water age being 15 years old and younger, the chronological age does not measure the appropriate age for the student. The parent should make the assessment first, and then follow it by asking for the instructors advice. I have taken my young son, with Down Syndrome on snorkeling trips with the Manatee since he was 7. This is too young in many peoples opinion, however I know him better than they do.
