Lets see if I understand this. “The county [Forsyth County] does not have a permit to withdraw water from the lake [Lake Lanier] , though it has been trying to get one for decades from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. (Forsyth County News July 18, 2000). The County is apparently so desperate for water from Lake Lanier that it offers to help its arch enemy - the City of Cumming - apply for funds to complete the City’s new water intake. That was a pretty good move and enlightened thinking which will help all of us. But then what else does the County do to help its cause? It takes a stick and pokes the eye of its potential benefactor - the Corps of Engineers - by suing over the Bethel Park fiasco. More good work by Dave Richard and Company! Charles Laughinghouse and Jim Harrell both bought into the Dave Richard shenanigans and now want to have Jim Boff elected as a Richard clone. Voters you had better think real hard about that.

The decision to sue the Federal Government in Federal Court was a bad one. It will cost Forsyth County taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars it is doomed to fail.

The real purpose of the lawsuit was twofold: To help David Richard win the votes of the Bethel Park residents AND thus ensure that Charles Laughinghouse remained as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners.

To achieve those goals, the Axis of Evil -- Laughinghouse, Richard and Jim Harrell -- sold the rest of us out.

Thank you, Charlie, David and Jim!
